Hi Nic,

The current method of getting TLEs from, as described in the User Manual and coded in the supplied .bat files, still works as of 07-07-2019.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. It is greatly appreciated.
This thread is a bit old by now, but I want to mention that I've been using a joystick for years. At first I used a complicated one such as you would use for flight simulations, but I was frequently pressing wrong buttons and messing things up. Now I use a USB version of the old Atari 2600 joystick. It's a simple joystick, so I rarely press anything wrong. It does have a start/stop button on it, so you have to be careful about when you press it, but that would be the case with any joystick. I also want to say that sometimes the directions on the joystick don't always agree with the direction the object moves. When that happens, I just rotate the joystick until the directions agree. Maybe that's stating the obvious, but I thought it might not be. Anyway, this joystick is available on Amazon, and probably on Ebay and other places. It's inexpensive.

I have already implemented ASCOM software as an independent package that I was able to test with the appropriate simulators. All I have to do is now integrate it into the Satellite Tracker code. Since I have been busy with all this moving and relocating that effort has stopped. My goal was to implement ASCOM into Satellite Tracker next. I have even gone as far as purchasing a complete Losmandy Gemini II mount which is still brand new in the box and has never been turned on.

It would be a Milestone if this Software would be ASCOM compatible! Good Luck!

The user manual located at this link ( is your best friend. Please review this manual while you are familiarizing yourself with the Satellite Tracker application.

Also the archived messages that were extracted from the original Yahoo Group ( has valuable information. You can do a search using your mount type and various other keywords as well.
Mount Discussions / Cannot communicate with Telescope

I am trying to connect my AZEQ6 with Satellite Tracker, but it always responds with "Cannot communicate with Telescope!".
The Mount can communicates with the EQMODLX and when i try another com port in ST it instantly says "Unable to initialize Serial Port". I think this means it knows there is a Connection to the Mount but it cannot communicate with it.

Mount >USB\RS232 cable > EQMOD HEQ5/EQ6 > EQMODLX > HWVSP > ST

Of course i have Meade LX200GPS Polar set.

Hope you can help me!

Satellite Tracker supports the Meade LX200 and Nexstar 8 series communications protocol as a minimum. The ICD's for these two telescopes can be found in the Documentation section of this forum (

Can Someone send me Satellite tracker SW ICD/protocol, so I can use (my) SW to operate "Satellite tracker" automatically (no man in the loop)?
Thank you Jimmy for chiming in on this subject. It is greatly appreciated.
